My name is Cooper Gaffney and I am from Snoqualmie, WA, graduating in June 2027 from Mount Si High School.

I have the goal to play collegiate golf.

​

Ever since I could remember I have always had some sort of golf club in my hand whether its a 1 foot long plastic one when I was 4 or a 45 inch extra stiff Ventus shaft with a stealth 2+ head. Golf is my way of getting away and just having time to myself to think, process, relieve stress, and just loosen up, but another part of the game that I love is high school golf.

 

High school golf is very enjoyable to me because I love interacting while being on a team with my friends and family. My brother played with me for 2 years (my freshman and sophomore years).  He is one of my role models and people that I look up to.

 

I am a very social person so high school golf is right up my alleyway, but balancing the individual side of golf and the team aspect of high school golf can be difficult.

​

As I have grown and gained experience in tournaments and been around/played with D1 golfers I have developed an attraction to the college golf world. Everything about college golf attracts me, whether it's the team aspect, the competitive nature, or the opportunities it gives you. The truth is I want every part of it.

​

I have grown 2" and gained 15 pounds since June 2024, and with my new bigger and stronger body, my tournament scoring average has come down dramatically. As I continue to grow and put on muscle, hopefully my scores will lower with that steady pace. I feel really good about my future as a golfer and am open to whatever opportunities come my way in the golf world.
